The UK-based network LENS (Lived Experience Network for Scholars) aims to provide a supportive space for academics in the UK with lived experience of mental health and/or addictions. This network has been funded by the NIHR Mental Health Research Incubator, and is run by two Incubator alumni from the GROW programme: Dr Ruth Naughton-Doe (University of York) and Dr Ruth Knight (York St John)
The first online network meeting will take place on Thursday, May 1 2025 from 1 – 2:30pm.
Free to attend, this meeting will involve:
- An introduction to the network
- Short presentations from organisers Dr Ruth Naughton-Doe (University of York) and Dr Ruth Knight (York St John)
- A session delivered by the McPin Foundation on managing decisions about disclosure
- An ‘Open Space’ to ask questions and decide on topics for future meetings
LENS is funded to run three online events and one in person event in September. Zoom invitations will be provided nearer the time.
