Are you interested in mental health and addiction research in schools?

We are pleased to invite you to join the SHARE Network: School Mental Health & Addiction Research Excellence Network.

Funded through the NIHR Mental Health Research Incubator Seed Funding scheme, the SHARE Network aims to connect and support emerging research leaders working in school mental health and addiction research across the UK.

The Network will provide a collaborative space for:

  • Networking and partnership development
  • Knowledge exchange and shared learning
  • Discussion of emerging research, policy, and practice developments
  • Capacity building opportunities

Membership is open to early and mid-career researchers, students, and trainees with an interest in school mental health and addiction research. The Network will also work collaboratively with practitioners, policy colleagues, third-sector organisations, and individuals with lived experience.

Quarterly meetings will take place online via Microsoft Teams and will include a learning session alongside interactive discussion and networking opportunities.

Our first SHARE Network meeting will take place on Tuesday 29th September, 12:00–13:30 where we will be exploring how we can build strong and sustainable relationships with schools. We are delighted to be joined by Maria Boffey, Knowledge Exchange and External Affairs Manager, School Health Research Network (SHRN) at Cardiff University, Dawn Haughton, Schools Health and Wellbeing Improvement Research Network (SHINE) manager at Glasgow University and Mirium Carter-Fraser, Working In Schools to Deliver on Mental health (WISDOM) Network Manager, Oxford Centre for Emerging Minds Research. The session will also include a panel discussion and member networking.

If you would like to join the SHARE Network, please see the attached flyer for more information and a sign-up link.

Please also feel free to share this invitation with colleagues or networks who may be interested. We look forward to building the SHARE Network together.
