A Masters course is one way you can build up your confidence as a researcher, by equipping you with key skills such as research design, and methods in quantitative or qualitative analyses. Look out for internships too - they are another important opportunity to develop your research skills. Research modules that you complete as part of your professional training track are also highly relevant experience, so consider taking these courses to develop your skills and experience. Whether you are currently on a course or have just finished one, consider approaching journals and try to get the work that you complete during your studies published.

“We’ve got a question to ask here. Why do we get on and go and answer it… And we went and got the study done, and we published it!”

- Ben Hannigan, Professor of Mental Health Nursing
