This one is for all you mid career mental health researchers – apply for up to £100,000 to support research over a period of up to 2 years from the Medical Research Foundation’s Launchpad Grants.

The applications can be from any area of mental health research, but the Medical Research Foundation is particularly encouraging applications from areas they identify as currently neglected, such as:

  • suicide and self-harm
  • trauma-related mental health
  • borderline personality disorder
  • OCD
  • ADHD
  • Tourette’s

The funding is intended to be used for things such as conducting pilot studies, generating data and collaborations, or developing competitive research proposals for larger funding. The work should be UK focused.

Eligibility

  • The competition is open to all UK-based researchers and clinical academics at eligible institutions (UK HEIs, Research Council research institutes, hospitals, and other independent research organisations)
  • Applicants must hold a PhD, DPhil, MD or other relevant doctorate
  • researchers should have extensive postdoc experience and be ready to transition to independence

The deadline for submissions is 8 May at noon.
