New video series on PPI in mental health research – thanks to Incubator Advisory Group members
no comments

Members of the Mental Health Research Incubator Advisory Group were behind the brand-new video series in which researchers and experienced public contributors discuss patient and public involvement (PPI) in mental health research. Dr Emma Černis and Dr Simon Hackett highlighted that support and direction with PPI was an area that mental health researchers would welcome support with. The conversations they recorded with three PPI experts are packed full of practical tips, friendly encouragement and guidance.

Researchers can eavesdrop on a PPI funder committee member’s insights, the practical basics that make a world of difference, and how a researcher dealt with a big change to their study plan as a result of feedback from the public contributors in their team. Recordings of these friendly chats offer mental health researchers everywhere welcome guidance, encouragement and reassurance about how to ensure good quality PPI runs throughout your mental health research study.

A helping hand in your mental health research career

The videos provide mental health researchers a much-needed pointer to some particularly helpful research resources that are out there. In each conversation, researchers highlight the resources that they personally recommend for PPI.
