Apply for funding to host a graduate intern in your research group

This funding is open to any UK university research group who can supervise a graduate intern on an addiction research project. In this application form, we ask you, as a potential host research group, to set out a 3-month research project topic for a funded graduate intern to work on.

About you

The internship opportunity in your research group

In describing the project, please make reference to the feasibility of the project in the 3-month/ 3-month equivalent period, the outcome/s expected at the end of the internship, and how this relates to and will impact on wider work done in your group. Please note that we cannot fund internships involving animal research.
Please consider project set-up, how you ensure the researcher has ownership of the project, creating connections within and beyond the immediate team, technical support, access to all relevant data, review meetings, team meetings, other support.
For example, you may need to consider seeking ethical approvals before the internship begins.
Project timescale
We’d expect the intern to be paid at their current salary for the duration of the internship, up to £6,000 in total. Up to £3000 (inc VAT) is available for the host research group to cover incurred costs, eg to contribute towards bench fee and PI time, and up to £1000 is available for project-specific expenses. Please note that no other overheads are permitted.
