MENTAL HEALTH RESEARCH INCUBATOR SEED FUND 2025
We are welcoming applications for the 2025 MHR Incubator seed fund awards. Activities funded must support the career development of UK based researchers working on mental health and/or addiction.
Am I eligible to apply?
- You must be a UK based researcher who has taken part in an Incubator career development programme or retreat in 2025 or earlier, eg PeCo, GROW, internship or placement. The activity you propose can benefit a wider group of mental health or addiction researchers beyond Incubator alumni.
- You can apply as an individual or with up to 3 co-applicants.
What can be funded?
- Activities with a budget of between £100-£1000.
- All funding must be spent by the end of September 2026.
- There is no funding available for overheads so please ensure you have agreed this with your department/institution.
What are we looking for?
Special Interest Research Groups: we particularly welcome applications that benefit a number of mental health researchers rather than one individual, for example funding to support the setting up of special interest research groups in specialist areas of mental health research.
Meetings and travel to get joint projects on a topic of shared interest off the ground.
Training and development for a group of mental health researchers on a topic of shared need
We welcome applications that can benefit a wider group of mental health and/or addiction researchers beyond those that have already been involved in Incubator programmes.
